O Allah, accept this 'Umrah of mine in Your House this year, and do not make it my last 'Umrah. Grant me the opportunity to return to Your Sacred House, and to the Enlightened City (Madinah). Grant me the opportunity to visit them every year, and make the way to return easy for me. Continue Your blessings upon me, and increase my remembrance of You. Make my visiting of Your House and the Haram of Your Prophet a means of my deliverance from Your Fire, and a success in attaining Your Paradise. Indeed, You have power over all things.
When to Read
This dua is most potent when recited towards the end of your Hajj or 'Umrah journey, perhaps after performing Tawaf al-Wada' (the farewell circumambulation) or as you are preparing to depart from Makkah or Madinah. It's also beneficial to recite it periodically after your return home, whenever you feel the longing to revisit these blessed lands.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity, humility, and a heartfelt yearning to return. Face the direction of the Ka'bah if possible, or towards Madinah. Raise your hands as you would for any supplication. Reflect on the immense blessings of having visited these sacred sites and ask Allah to grant you the grace of another visit. It's also a good practice to combine this with specific duas taught by the Prophet ๏ทบ for entering and leaving Makkah and Madinah, and for making tawaf and sa'i.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua embodies the deep spiritual connection Muslims feel with the Haramayn (the two holy sanctuaries). By asking Allah to make it not your last visit, you are expressing your desire for continued spiritual growth and seeking His grace to perform this act of worship multiple times. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ said: 'The performance of 'Umrah after Ramadan, the performance of Hajj after 'Umrah, expiates whatever (sins) are committed between them.' (Sahih Muslim 1349). This highlights the immense reward of these acts, making the desire to repeat them a noble aspiration. Furthermore, seeking repeated visits is a way to continually seek Allah's mercy and forgiveness in the most blessed of places.
