Dua for Successful Completion of All Hajj/Umrah Rites

Hajj & Umrah
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 2939

اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّي مَنَاسِكِي

O Allah, accept my rites (of Hajj/Umrah) from me.

Allahumma taqabbal minni manasiki

When to Read

This dua is profoundly significant after completing the major acts of Hajj or Umrah, such as Tawaf (circumambulation), Sa'i (running between Safa and Marwah), and the standing at Arafat. It's a moment to humbly ask Allah to accept the immense effort and devotion you've invested. You can also recite it as you finish each major pillar of the pilgrimage, or once at the very end, before exiting the state of Ihram.

How to Read

Recite this supplication with sincerity and a hopeful heart, preferably after finishing your Tawaf, Sa'i, or other significant rituals. Raise your hands in supplication if you feel moved to do so, and focus on the meaning: acknowledging that all acceptance comes from Allah alone. It's a personal plea, a direct conversation with your Creator.

Virtues & Benefits

The primary benefit is seeking Allah's acceptance of your Hajj or Umrah. Hajj, in particular, is a demanding pillar of Islam, requiring significant physical, emotional, and financial investment. Asking for its acceptance is crucial, as true reward lies in Allah's pleasure. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to ask for acceptance after good deeds. While this specific wording is found in Hasan hadith collections, the principle of asking for acceptance is fundamental. Allah (SWT) says regarding Hajj: "And take provisions with you for the journey, but indeed, the best provision is taqwa (fear of Allah). So fear Me, O you of understanding." (Al-Baqarah 2:197). Seeking acceptance is a manifestation of that taqwa.

Ibn Majah narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, when he finished his Tawaf around the Ka'bah, went to the station of Ibrahim (Maqam Ibrahim) and recited: 'And take provisions... (Al-Baqarah 2:197)'. Then he performed two rak'ahs of prayer. Then he returned to the Black Stone and kissed it. Then he went out to the hill of Safa and when he reached it, he recited: 'Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs Hajj to the House or 'Umrah - there is no blame upon him for tawaaf between them. And whoever volunteers good - then indeed, Allah is appreciative and knowing. (Al-Baqarah 2:158)'. 'I begin with what Allah began with.' Then he said: 'Allahumma taqabbal minni manasiki' (O Allah, accept my rites from me). He repeated this three times. Then he went and performed Sa'i. [Sunan Ibn Majah, Book 27, Hadith 2939]. The narrator of the hadith is Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him).
