بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّي هَذَا الأُضْحِيَّةَ
In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, accept this sacrifice from me.
Bismillahi, wallahu akbar. Allahumma taqabbal minni hadhihil udhiyah.
When to Read
This dua is recited at the moment of offering the sacrifice (Qurbani) during Hajj al-Ifaḍah (the main sacrifice on the Day of Nahr) or during Umrah if one has committed a violation requiring a sacrifice (dam). It is a personal supplication made while the animal is being sacrificed on your behalf.
How to Read
When the time comes to make the sacrifice, whether it's your own or on behalf of someone else, face the Qiblah with the animal. You can say this dua directly or have the person performing the sacrifice say it on your behalf, ensuring they intend for it to be accepted from you. Utter it clearly and with sincere intention.
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting this dua signifies acknowledging Allah's name and greatness at the point of sacrifice. It is a direct plea for the acceptance of this act of worship, which is a crucial part of Hajj and Umrah rituals. The act of sacrifice itself is a deeply spiritual endeavor, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's (peace be upon him) willingness to sacrifice his son for Allah. By making this dua, you are actively seeking Allah's pleasure and reward for fulfilling this command.
