Dua for Ease and Patience During Hajj and Umrah

Hajj & Umrah
Sahih HadithSahih Ibn Hibban 955

اللَّهُمَّ لا سَهْلَ إِلاَّ مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلاً، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلاً

O Allah, there is no ease except what You make easy, and You make the difficult easy if You will.

Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahla, wa anta taj'alul-hazna idha shi'ta sahla

When to Read

Recite this dua frequently before and during your Hajj or Umrah journey, especially when you encounter crowds, long queues, physical exhaustion, or moments of frustration. It's a powerful supplication to seek Allah's help in making challenging situations manageable and to foster patience within your heart.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and a humble heart. Raise your hands if possible, especially in the blessed places of Makkah and Madinah. Visualize Allah making the path easy for you. It is best recited at the beginning of any task or when facing a difficulty to seek divine assistance.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates the core of Tawakkul (reliance on Allah). By acknowledging that all ease comes from Him, we relinquish control of outcomes to the Almighty. This fosters a sense of peace and reduces anxiety when faced with the inevitable challenges of Hajj and Umrah, such as navigating crowded Tawaf or Sai, dealing with travel delays, or managing physical discomfort. It reminds us that even the most daunting difficulties are simple for Allah.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahla, wa anta taj'alul-hazna idha shi'ta sahla.' (O Allah, there is no ease except what You make easy, and You make the difficult easy if You will.) This dua is a foundational supplication for seeking Allah's assistance in overcoming any hardship.
