Dua at the Multazam: Between the Door and the Black Stone

Hajj & Umrah
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 3832

O Allah, I ask You for honor in this world and the Hereafter, and I ask You to protect me from darkness and trials, and I ask You to make my affair easy for me.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'izzan fid-dunya wal-akhirah, wa as'aluka an tu'idhani min azh-zhalami wal-fitan, wa as'aluka an taj'ala li min amri yusra.

When to Read

This is a powerful dua to recite at the Multazam, the area between the Rukn al-Yamani (the corner of the Kaaba) and the main door of the Kaaba. This spot is considered a place where duas are readily accepted, especially during Hajj and Umrah.

How to Read

At the Multazam, you should press your chest and face against the wall, holding onto both sides of the wall if possible. You would then recite this dua, or any other earnest supplication, with humility and conviction. It's a moment to pour your heart out to Allah, seeking His mercy and help.

Virtues & Benefits

The Multazam is a sacred spot where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is reported to have made dua. While there isn't a specific, widely narrated dua for *this exact spot* beyond general supplication, the principle is to utilize this blessed place for sincere asking. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, "The Rukn (the corner of the Kaaba) and the Multazam are places where duas are accepted." (Reported by Al-Azraqi in Akhbar Makkah). This particular dua encompasses seeking dignity and honor, protection from misguidance and tribulations, and ease in life's affairs, making it a comprehensive supplication for this blessed location.

Source & Authentication

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The Rukn and the Multazam are places where duas are accepted." (Reported by Al-Azraqi in Akhbar Makkah, with a chain that is slightly weak but the meaning is supported by other narrations).
