When to Read

This beautiful supplication is recommended to be recited after performing the ghusl (ritual bath) on Friday morning. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized the importance of ghusl for Friday, considering it highly virtuous. Reciting this dua after completing your bath acknowledges Allah's blessings and seeks His continued favor in all aspects of your life, from forgiveness to sustenance and comfort in your home.

How to Read

After finishing your ghusl on Friday, while you are perhaps drying yourself or before you dress, make this sincere dua. Raise your hands if you feel inclined, as is the practice during supplication, and recite it with a heart full of hope and remembrance of Allah. The intention is to express gratitude and seek increase in blessings from the One who bestows all provisions.

Virtues & Benefits

Performing ghusl on Friday is a highly recommended act, even obligatory for those who have had a seminal discharge. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever performs ghusl on Friday, then that is a means of purification for him.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 879, Sahih Muslim 847). This specific dua, recited after the ghusl, seeks three profound benefits: forgiveness for sins, abundance and comfort in one's home, and blessings in one's sustenance. It's a holistic request that covers spiritual, material, and familial well-being, all tied to the blessed day of Friday.
