اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan
When to Read
This is a powerful dua taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to be recited after the Fajr (dawn) prayer on Friday. The day of Jumu'ah holds special significance, and seeking Allah's blessings during its early hours is particularly fruitful. Reciting this supplication after Fajr on Friday is a beautiful way to start the blessed day, asking for the very foundations of a blessed life: knowledge that benefits, provision that is pure, and deeds that are accepted by our Creator.
How to Read
Make this dua with sincerity and conviction after completing the Fajr prayer on Friday. It's recommended to turn to the Qiblah (direction of prayer), raise your hands slightly (though not always necessary for every dua), and utter these words with a humble heart. Reflect on the meaning of each request: knowledge that guides you, sustenance that is lawful and pleasing to Allah, and actions that are sincere and worthy of acceptance. Afterwards, you can continue with other Adhkar (remembrance of Allah) or supplications.
Virtues & Benefits
This comprehensive dua encapsulates three essential aspects for a fulfilling life in this world and the Hereafter. Beneficial knowledge opens doors to understanding Allah's will and navigating life's challenges. Goodly provision ensures that what we eat, wear, and use is pure and blessed, bringing peace to our hearts. Finally, asking for acceptable deeds means striving for sincerity and correctness in our worship and interactions, so that our efforts are rewarded by Allah. The Prophet's ﷺ teaching of this dua after Fajr on Friday highlights its efficacy during a time of immense spiritual potential, paving the way for a week filled with barakah (blessings) and divine favor.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The prayer of a Muslim on Friday, from the time of Fajr until the Asr prayer, is like a sacrifice in the cause of Allah, and the charity given during this period is like tenfold the amount of charity given at other times.' (This relates to the general virtue of Friday, and the following is a specific dua taught for this time). In another narration, it is reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to say after the Fajr prayer on the day of Friday: 'O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, provision that is pure, and deeds that are accepted.'
