O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
When to Read
Friday night officially begins at sunset on Thursday and lasts until Fajr on Friday morning. While the specific 'hour of acceptance' for general duas on Friday is during the day, the Prophet ﷺ strongly encouraged us to increase our blessings upon him (Salawat) throughout the entire blessed period of Friday, which includes the night leading into it. So, from Thursday Maghrib until Friday Maghrib, try to dedicate extra time to reciting Salawat. This particular form of Salawat, known as Salawat al-Ibrahimiyah, is the most complete and virtuous way to send blessings.
How to Read
You can recite this Salawat, or any other approved form of Salawat, verbally or silently, as many times as you are able. There's no specific number prescribed, but the instruction is to 'increase' it. This means making a conscious effort to say it more often than usual. You can say it while walking, driving, doing chores, or by dedicating specific time after your prayers. Focus on the meaning and feel the connection to the Prophet ﷺ.
Virtues & Benefits
Sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ on Friday and its night carries immense rewards. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times." (Sahih Muslim 384). This means for every time you say this dua, Allah showers tenfold blessings upon you – forgiveness, mercy, and elevation of rank. Furthermore, your Salawat is directly presented to the Prophet ﷺ, as he informed us: "Indeed, the best of your days is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown, and on it all of creation will swoon. So, increase your salutations upon me on it, for your salutations are presented to me." (Sunan Abi Dawud 1047, graded Sahih by Al-Albani). This practice not only earns you great reward but also strengthens your bond with our beloved Prophet ﷺ and is a means of seeking his intercession.

From Aws ibn Aws (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, the best of your days is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown, and on it all of creation will swoon. So, increase your salutations upon me on it, for your salutations are presented to me." The Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah, how will our salutations be presented to you when you have disintegrated?" He said, "Indeed, Allah has forbidden the earth from consuming the bodies of the prophets."
