Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what protection can I obtain against the scorpion?' He said: 'Recite: *A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq* (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created).' This man recited it, and he was not harmed by anything. (Related by Muslim). In another narration, it is mentioned: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning will not be harmed by anything until the evening, and whoever says it three times in the evening will not be harmed by anything until the morning.' (Sahih Muslim 2708)
