Yahya related to me from Malik, from Abu az-Zinad, from al-Araj, from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. It was created on it. It was on it that he was admitted to Paradise. It was on it that the Hour will come to pass. In it there is a time when no servant prays for good, except that it will be given to him.' Abu Hurayra also related that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The night of Jumu'ah is illuminating and the day of Jumu'ah is fragrant. In it is an hour when no Muslim supplicates for good, except that Allah gives it to him.' I said to Abu al-Zinad, 'Is it the time between Asr and Maghrib?' He nodded his head. Malik said, 'I have heard from a number of our people that this hour is between the Asr prayer and the Maghrib prayer.' Al-Laith b. Sa'd related to me from Ibn Jurayj, from Abu az-Zinad, from al-Araj, from Abu Hurayra that the Prophet ﷺ mentioned Friday and said, 'In it there is an hour when no one prays for good, except that it will be given to him.' I said to Abu az-Zinad, 'What is it?' He said, 'The time between the Asr prayer and the Maghrib prayer.' Abu Hurayra reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying: 'Do not single out the night preceding Friday for night vigil, nor single out Friday for fasting, unless it coincides with the fast of one of you. He who has a garment to wear (on Friday) should wear it, and he who has perfume should apply it. If one of you has finished with perfume, he should not wipe himself with it.' Abu Hurayra reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying: 'On Friday an angel stands at the gate of the gates of the world, writing down the people who come for the Jumu'ah prayer. The people come and give their names. Then when the Imam sits on the pulpit, the angels roll up their scrolls and the people listen to the sermon. Those who come early are like one who sacrifices a camel; those who come next are like one who sacrifices a cow; those who come next are like one who sacrifices a horned ram; those who come next are like one who sacrifices a hen; and he who comes last is like one who offers an egg. When the Imam gives the sermon, the angels also listen to it.' 'Umar b. al-Khattab reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'On Friday there is an hour which, if a person happens to be praying at that time and asks Allah the Exalted for something, He will grant it to him.' Ibn Shihab said: 'The scholars have spoken about this hour and have said that it is the time between Asr and Maghrib.' Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'The best day of the week is Friday. It is the day of Eid for the Muslims. It is the day on which the Hour will be established.' Abu Hurayra also reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'There is an hour on Friday when, if a Muslim happens to be praying, the prayer is answered.' (Sahih Muslim)
