اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hellfire, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhabi Jahannama, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabi al-qabri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatid-Dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-mawat.
When to Read
This powerful dua is particularly relevant and recommended to be recited on Friday, especially during the blessed hour of Jumu'ah (the hour of Friday when supplications are readily accepted). It's also a general protection dua that can be recited at any time, but seeking refuge in Allah on this day carries extra weight. After the Tashahhud in prayer, before the Taslim (final salutation), is an excellent time to make this supplication.

Uthman ibn 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no servant who says, in the morning of every day and the evening of every night: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min adhabi jahannama, wa a'udhu bika min adhabi al-qabri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatid-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-mawat' ('O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hellfire, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death), but that it will be a duty upon Allah to protect him.' And Uthman ibn 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) used to narrate this hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
