اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي كُلَّهُ، دِقَّهُ، وَجِلَّهُ، أَوَّلَهُ، وَآخِرَهُ، وَعَلَانِيَتَهُ، وَسِرَّهُ

O Allah, forgive me all my sins, the minor and the major, the first and the last, the apparent and the hidden.

Allahumma-ghfir li dhanbi kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, awwalahu wa akhirahu, wa 'alanitahu wa sirrahu.

When to Read

This powerful supplication can be recited at any time, but it's especially poignant on Friday. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to increase our prayers and supplications on this blessed day. Consider making this dua during the time of Jumu'ah prayer, after the Tashahhud in your Salah, or anytime after Asr on Friday, as this is a time when Allah the Almighty descends to the lowest heaven and grants supplications.

Seeking Allah's forgiveness is a cornerstone of our faith. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'By Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him more than seventy times a day.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306). This hadith highlights the constant need for repentance. This specific dua encompasses all types of sins, ensuring a comprehensive plea. Friday itself is a day of immense blessings. The Quran states: 'And when the prayer is finished, [once the congregational prayer is over], you may spread out on the earth and seek from Allah His bounty, and remember Allah often that you may succeed.' (Al-Jumu'ah 62:10). By seeking forgiveness on this day, we aim to purify ourselves and align our actions with Allah's pleasure, earning His mercy and success in this life and the next.
