بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Bismillaahillahee laa yaḍurru ma'asmihee shay'un fil-arḍi wa laa fis-samaa'i wa huwa-s-Samee'ul-'Aleem.
When to Read
This powerful supplication is recommended to be recited three times in the morning and three times in the evening. Narrated by 'Uthman ibn 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "He who says: 'Bismillaahillahee laa yaḍurru ma'asmihee shay'un fil-arḍi wa laa fis-samaa'i wa huwa-s-Samee'ul-'Aleem' (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing), three times every morning, will not be afflicted by sudden calamity that comes suddenly by night, and he will not be afflicted by sudden calamity that comes suddenly by day. And he will not be taken away from the days of his life. And he will not be afflicted by a plague until he departs from that gathering. And when he is taken away, he will not be afflicted by it." — Sunan Abi Dawud 5088. The hadith is classified as Hasan by some scholars.
