O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my property. O Allah, conceal my weaknesses and secure my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me. And I seek refuge in Your magnificence from being struck from beneath me.
Allahumma inni as'alukal 'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal 'afwa wal-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-stur 'awrati wa amin raw'ati. When to Read
This comprehensive dua is perfect to recite daily, especially in the morning and evening. It's particularly beneficial when you feel overwhelmed by uncertainty about the future, facing new challenges, or experiencing anxiety about what lies ahead. Think of it as a shield for your spiritual and physical well-being, asking Allah for protection and peace amidst life's unpredictable nature.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a focused heart. It's best to raise your hands as you begin, following the Sunnah of supplication. Ensure you pronounce the Arabic clearly, understanding that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) hears every sincere plea. After reciting, reflect on the meaning and trust in Allah's plan. It can be recited at any time, but the morning and evening are highly recommended.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication is incredibly comprehensive. It asks Allah for 'Afiyah, which encompasses protection from all harm, distress, illness, and difficulties, both in this life and the next. Asking for 'Afwa (pardon) cleanses our sins, while asking for 'Afiyah (well-being) shields us from calamities. The prayer for protection from all directions (front, back, right, left, above) is a powerful request for encompassing security. The final part, seeking refuge from being 'struck from beneath,' is a profound acknowledgment of our vulnerability and a reliance on Allah's ultimate power to protect us from unseen dangers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself would often make this dua, highlighting its immense importance.

Al-Qasim bin 'Abdullah narrated to us: 'Abdullah bin Al-Harith narrated to us from Usamah bin Zaid, who said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'I did not leave behind me any trial more harmful to men than the trial of women.'' Usamah said: 'I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) one day and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you did not mention any trial more harmful to men than the trial of women.'' He said: 'The people of Israel did not become afflicted with calamities except through women.' So Usamah went away and did not meet him (the Prophet) until he rode his camel from the tent. He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my property. O Allah, conceal my weaknesses and secure my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me. And I seek refuge in Your magnificence from being struck from beneath me.'
