Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijali.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6369). This hadith is part of a larger narration where the Prophet ﷺ taught his companions various supplications for seeking Allah's protection against different afflictions. The inclusion of 'ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijali' specifically addresses the fear of being overwhelmed by debt and the potential for being subjected to hardship or humiliation by people, often linked to financial inability.
