O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed. Your justice over me is assured. I ask You by every Name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to any of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept in the knowledge of the Unseen with You, to make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my worries.
Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibn 'abdika, ibn amatika, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka. As'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitābika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil ghaibi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabī'a qalbi, wa nūra sadri, wa jalā'a huzni, wa dhahāba hammi.
