Dua for Protection from the Harm of a Bad Neighbor

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ جَارِ السُّوءِ، وَمِنْ زَوْجٍ مُّعَنِّتٍ، وَمِنْ مَالٍ مُّفْتِنٍ، وَمِنْ صَدِيقٍ خَائِنٍ.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a bad neighbor, and from a burdensome spouse, and from wealth that causes temptation, and from a treacherous friend.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min jaris-soo'i, wa min zawjin mu'annitin, wa min malin muftinin, wa min sadīqin khā'inin.

A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what has been revealed to you today?' He became angry, and a verse was revealed: 'When a greeting is sent to you, return a better one than it, or (at least) return it equally.' (4:86) The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'You have brought me a verse from what was revealed to me, and a chapter was revealed to me, and a section was revealed to me.' Then he recited: 'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind...' (114:1) until the end of the Surah. Then he recited: 'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn...' (113:1) until the end of the Surah. Then he recited: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a bad neighbor, and from a spouse who makes things burdensome, and from wealth that causes temptation, and from a treacherous friend.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me four things, and I did not forget them.'
