اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ
O Allah, we place You before them and we seek refuge in You from their evil.
Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim wa na'udhu bika min shururihim
When to Read
This powerful supplication is particularly potent when facing adversaries or feeling overwhelmed by threats, whether real or perceived. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this to his companions when they were in situations of direct confrontation or when the might of enemies loomed large. It's a dua to recite when you feel fear creeping in about potential harm or oppression from others, asking Allah to be your ultimate defense.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere conviction, picturing Allah's protection surrounding you. The phrase 'fi nuhurihim' (before them) implies confronting the threat directly with Allah's strength, while 'na'udhu bika min shururihim' (we seek refuge in You from their evil) acknowledges your reliance on Allah alone for safety. It's best recited with hands raised slightly, as is customary when seeking Allah's direct intervention.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a direct request for Allah's intervention and protection against harm from enemies. It shifts the focus from the perceived strength of the adversary to the absolute power of Allah. By reciting it, a believer acknowledges their own limitations and places their trust entirely in their Creator, finding peace and courage in the knowledge that Allah is sufficient for them. It alleviates fear by transferring the burden of protection to the One who controls all affairs.
