When to Read
This is a profound supplication that can be made at any time, but it is particularly beneficial to recite it in the morning and evening prayers (after the Tashahhud, before the Tasleem), or during times of reflection and seeking guidance. When we feel our resolve weakening or when we encounter confusing situations, turning to this dua can reinforce our inner strength.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, raising your hands as you would in other supplications. Understand the weight of each word: seeking refuge in Allah (SWT) from the internal and external forces that can lead us astray. Visualize yourself being shielded by Allah's protection from those negative influences.
Virtues & Benefits
Seeking refuge in Allah (SWT) from evil character, deeds, and desires is a powerful way to safeguard our faith and our path. Heresy (Munkarat) and misguidance (Dalalat) can creep in through various means – bad company, corrupting influences, or even our own uncontrolled desires. This dua directly asks Allah (SWT) to protect us from these threats, helping us maintain a clear heart and a firm stance on the truth.
