When to Read

This dua is incredibly powerful for seeking Allah's protection. Recite it daily, especially when you go out, anticipating potential interactions with people whose eyes might carry envy or ill will, whether intentional or not. It's also beneficial to recite it if you feel a sense of unease or that someone might be affecting you negatively.

How to Read

Recite this dua three times in the morning and three times in the evening. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this practice for comprehensive protection. You can also recite it anytime you feel vulnerable or specifically targeted by the evil eye, even from strangers whose intentions you cannot gauge.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication draws on the absolute perfection of Allah's words, which are a shield against all created evils. By seeking refuge in them, we acknowledge Allah's ultimate power to protect us from any harm, including the unseen effects of the evil eye (al-'ayn) which can be a reality among people.

Source & Authentication

‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever says three times in the morning: ‘I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,’ nothing will harm him until he reaches the evening.
