Evil Eye & Hasad
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 1540

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the passing away of Your blessings, the reversal of Your well-being, the sudden onset of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with. I seek refuge in You from the trials of the grave, and the punishment of the grave, and from the evil of this world, and the evil of the hereafter. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a heart that does not fear (You), and from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not heard. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my property. O Allah, conceal my private parts and calm my fears. Protect me from my front, and from behind me, and from my right, and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being struck from beneath me.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa faja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik. Wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-qabr, wa min 'adhabil-qabr, wa min sharrid-dunya, wa min sharril-akhirah. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la yanfa', wa min qalbin la yakhsha', wa min nafsil-la tashba', wa min du'a'in la yusma'. Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-stur 'awrati, wa amin raw'ati, wahfadhni min bayni yadayya, wa min khalfi, wa 'an yamini, wa 'an shimali, wa min fawqi, wa a'udhu bi-'azhamatika an ughtala min tahti.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to seek refuge with Allah in the following words: (Sunan Abi Dawud 1540, graded Hasan) This hadith is narrated by Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) who said: 'Among the supplications of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was this: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the passing away of Your blessings, the reversal of Your well-being, the sudden onset of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with. I seek refuge in You from the trial of the grave, and the punishment of the grave, and from the evil of this world, and the evil of the Hereafter. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a heart that does not fear You, and from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not heard. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my property. O Allah, conceal my private parts and calm my fears. Protect me from my front, and from behind me, and from my right, and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being struck from beneath me."
