In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the passing away of Your favours, and the changing of Your protection, and the sudden vengeance of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with. And I seek refuge in You from the hardships of trials, and the reach of misery, and the evil of destiny, and the rejoicing of enemies. And I seek refuge in You from the thirst of the water-skin, and from goodness being abandoned, and from the corruption of what You have bestowed, and from the evil of what has been decreed.
Bismillāh. Allāhumma innī a'ūdhu bika min zawāli ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'āfiyatik, wa fujā'ati niqmatik, wa jamī'i sakhaṭik. Wa a'ūdhu bika min jahdil-balā', wa darakish-shaqā', wa sū'il-qaḍā', wa shamātatil-a'dā'. Wa a'ūdhu bika min 'aḍḍis-siqā', wa min an yutrakal-khair, wa min fasādi mā an'amta bihi, wa min sharri mā quddir.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua encompasses seeking refuge from a wide spectrum of evils and trials. By reciting it, we are asking Allah to protect us from: the loss of His blessings, the reversal of His grace and health, His sudden punishment, and anything that incurs His wrath. It also specifically asks for protection from severe difficulties, falling into misery, unfortunate decrees, and the joy of our enemies at our misfortune. The latter part protects against a more specific set of hardships that could even include the 'thirst of the water-skin,' a metaphor for extreme need, and the loss of good things or the spoiling of what Allah has gifted us. It's a holistic plea for divine protection.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of trial, and the reaching of misery, and the evil of destiny, and the rejoicing of enemies.
