Evil Eye & Hasad
Sahih HadithSunan Abi Dawud 3860

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm on earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shai'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem

When to Read

This powerful dua is best recited in the morning and evening, particularly when you are concerned about the envious glances or negative energy directed towards your possessions, wealth, or even family. It's a general shield against all forms of harm, including the subtle dangers of the evil eye that can stem from excessive admiration of material things.

How to Read

Recite this dua three times in the morning and three times in the evening. As you say it, focus your intention on seeking Allah's protection. Understand that true protection and blessing come from Him alone, and this dua is a means to invoke that divine safeguard. Utter it with sincerity and certainty in Allah's power.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua as a comprehensive protection. When one recites it, they are invoking Allah's name, the source of all power and safety. It shields the reciter from any harm, whether it be from people, jinn, or even the subtle, unperceived harm that can arise from the envy of others towards blessings, including material possessions. It fosters reliance on Allah (tawakkul) and reminds us that no worldly possession truly benefits or harms without Allah's permission.
