بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm on Earth or in the Heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

This powerful dua is best recited in the evening, just as the day begins to fade and the night takes hold. It's part of the Sunnah for the evening remembrance (Adhkar al-Masah). Reciting it three times ensures comprehensive protection throughout the night.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and full conviction in Allah's power to protect. Utter it clearly and with a present heart. It is recommended to recite it three times in the evening. You can do this after the Maghrib prayer or at any point before going to sleep.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication offers immense protection against any harm, whether from physical ailments, unseen evils, or the negative impacts of the evil eye and envy. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ guaranteed that whoever recites this three times in the morning or evening will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity. This includes protection from the destructive envy of others and the dreaded evil eye ('ayn), which can cause physical and emotional distress. The act itself is a beautiful expression of Tawakkul (reliance on Allah).

Narrated by Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever says: 'Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem' (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm on Earth or in the Heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing) three times, he will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until morning comes. And whoever says it in the morning, he will not be afflicted by any calamity until evening comes." - Sunan Abi Dawud 5087. This hadith is graded as Sahih by scholars like Al-Albani.
