بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي، وَأَخْرِجْ قَلْبِي، وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي، وَقِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ.

In the name of Allah, I have laid down my side. O Allah, forgive my sins, purify my heart, make my affair easy for me, and protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants.

Bismillah, wa da'tu janbi, Allahumma-ghfir li dhanbi, wa-akhrij qalbī, wa yassir li amrī, wa qinī 'adhābaka yawma tab'athu 'ibādak.

When to Read

Recited before sleeping, as part of your evening routine. This prayer is specifically for when you are about to lie down to sleep, setting the intention for rest while seeking Allah's protection and guidance for the coming day.

How to Read

Recite this supplication sincerely with the intention that Allah (SWT) purifies your heart and makes your tasks easy. It's best recited just before you drift off to sleep, after completing your other evening rituals like Wudu (ablution) and reciting other prescribed duas and Quranic verses.

This dua encompasses seeking forgiveness for sins, spiritual purification ('purify my heart'), ease in carrying out one's responsibilities ('make my affair easy'), and protection from Allah's punishment on the Day of Judgment. It was narrated from 'Abdullah that the Prophet ﷺ used to say when he went to bed: Bismillah, wa da'tu janbi, Allahumma-ghfir li dhanbi, wa-akhrij qalbī, wa yassir li amrī, wa qinī 'adhābaka yawma tab'athu 'ibādak. (In the name of Allah, I have laid down my side. O Allah, forgive my sins, purify my heart, make my affair easy for me, and protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants.)
