Daily Evening Routine
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 1385

O Allah, I have stood for the night, my eyes have humbled themselves before You, my soul has been patient, my heart has clung to my Lord, my tears have flowed, and my heart has softened for Your remembrance. O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, to bring my heart to life with Your remembrance, to clear it of all save Your remembrance, and to make ease for me in my affair.

Allahumma qamtu al-layla wa tawada'at laka 'ayni wa sabarat nafsi wa ta'allaqa qalbi bi Rabbi wa fadhaat dumoo'i wa khasha'a qalbi li dhikrik, Allahumma inni as'aluka bi 'ilmika al-ghaybi wa qudratika 'ala al-khalq an tuhyiya qalbi bi dhikrik wa an tujalli 'amma siwa dhikrik, wa an taj'ala li min amri yusra

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'When you stand for Tahajjud, say: Allahumma qamtu al-layla wa tawada'at laka 'ayni wa sabarat nafsi wa ta'allaqa qalbi bi Rabbi wa fadhaat dumoo'i wa khasha'a qalbi li dhikrik, Allahumma inni as'aluka bi 'ilmika al-ghaybi wa qudratika 'ala al-khalq an tuhyiya qalbi bi dhikrik wa an tujalli 'amma siwa dhikrik, wa an taj'ala li min amri yusra.' (And then he said: 'O Allah, I have stood for the night, my eyes have humbled themselves before You, my soul has been patient, my heart has clung to my Lord, my tears have flowed, and my heart has softened for Your remembrance. O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, to bring my heart to life with Your remembrance, to clear it of all save Your remembrance, and to make ease for me in my affair.)
