Narrated by Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'When a man mentions the name of Allah upon entering his house and upon eating, Satan says: 'You have no place to pass the night and no food.' And when he mentions the name of Allah upon entering his house without mentioning His name upon eating, Satan says: 'You have a place to pass the night.' And when he mentions His name upon eating without mentioning His name upon entering his house, Satan says: 'You have a place to pass the night and food.' (Sahih Muslim 2713). The version provided is an elaboration taught by the Prophet ﷺ in other narrations related to entering and exiting.
