O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed. Your decision concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any one of Your creation, or kept exclusively to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, that You make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the reliever of my anxiety.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not fear (You), from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not heard.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, and from the evil of my sight, and from the evil of my heart, and from the evil of my sperm/discharge.
O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those who are present and those who are absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whoever You cause to live from among us, let him live upon Islam, and whoever You cause to die from among us, let him die upon faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not let us go astray after him.
O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, our Lord and Lord of all things, the One who causes the grain and date-stones to split and sprout, the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur'an. I seek refuge in You from the evil of all things You are seizing by the forelock. O Allah, You are the First, and nothing is before You; You are the Last, and nothing is after You. You are the Outwardly Apparent, and nothing is above You; You are the Inwardly Unseen, and nothing is closer than You. Remove my debt and enrich me from poverty.
I seek Your forgiveness. All praise is due to Allah, Who removed from me the harm and granted me well-being.
In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of Satan and his temptations. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of every devil and rebel. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of everything that is evil. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of every creature whose forelock You are seizing. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of heat and cold. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of all evil. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of what descends from the sky and the evil of what ascends into it. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of what He has created on the earth and the evil of what emerges from it. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the temptations of night and day. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of every night visitor, except the one who comes with good, O Most Merciful.
O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, good provision, and deeds that are accepted.
Glory be to Allah Who has subjected this (conveyance) to us, and we were not able to subdue it. And surely, we are to return to our Lord. O Allah, we ask You on this journey all good and piety, and such deeds as please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and let us cover its distance. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the One Who will look after the family and property. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of the journey, from seeing a miserable sight, and from evil conditions of time, and from meeting a bad fate with wealth and family when I return to my family.
In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male devils and female devils (or from evil things and evil beings).
O Allah, I seek guidance from Your knowledge, and strength from Your power, and I ask of Your immense bounty. For indeed, You have power, and I have no power; You have knowledge, and I have no knowledge; and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter – and then you specify your need – is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my end of affairs (or he said: in my present and my future), then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my end of affairs (or he said: in my present and my future), then turn it away from me, and turn me away from it, and ordain for me the good wherever it may be, and make me content with it.
In Your name, my Lord, I lay down my side, and in Your name I raise it. If You should take my soul, then have mercy upon it. And if You should return it, then protect it with what You protect Your righteous servants.
