أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ وَعِقَابِهِ، وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ، وَمِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whispers of devils and from their presence.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ informed us that seven types of people will be shaded by Allah on the Day when there is no shade but His: the just ruler, the youth who grew up worshipping Allah, the man whose heart is attached to the mosques, two men who love each other for Allah's sake, meeting and parting for His sake, the man who is tempted by a beautiful woman of high status but refuses, saying 'I fear Allah', the man who gives charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives, and the man who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes well up with tears. (Sahih al-Bukhari 6808, Sahih Muslim 1031). By making dua for Allah's shade in this life, we train ourselves to desire and strive for His ultimate shade in the hereafter.

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'There is no one who is sheltered by Allah with His shade on the Day He meets him, except that for him there is a throne of pure gold, and he stands upon it, and Allah is pleased with him and he is pleased with Allah.' The narrator said: 'And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Seven are sheltered by Allah with His shade on the Day when there is no shade but His:' and he mentioned the seven types. The narrator said: 'And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If one of you looks into his brother's face with mercy, then Allah will look at him with mercy on the Day he meets Him.' The narrator said: 'And if one of you seeks refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created, then none of the creation of Allah will harm him until he moves from that place.' He said: 'So 'Amr said: 'My father narrated to me from his father, from the Prophet (ﷺ), that he said: 'Seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whispers of devils and from their presence.' And 'Amr said: 'It was not among the things that were remembered, except that I would say it.'
