Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The people of Medina appealed to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in a dry season, so he performed the Istisqa' (prayer for rain) for them. While he was delivering the sermon, he invoked Allah for rain, and the clouds began to gather. 'Abdullah bin Yazid said: 'Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) descended from the pulpit and offered two rak'ahs of prayer, and then he faced the people and invoked Allah for rain, saying: 'Allahumma sayyiban naafi'an' (O Allah, let it be a beneficial rain).
