اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنْ حَرِّ جَهَنَّمَ
O Allah, save me from the heat of Hellfire.
Allahumma ajirni min harri jahannam
When to Read
This is a powerful dua to recite when the sun is intensely hot, reminding us that this worldly heat is a fraction of the heat of Jahannam. It's particularly beneficial to say this seven times in the morning and seven times in the evening, as indicated by the Sunnah, to seek Allah's protection throughout the day and night.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and focus, reflecting on the immense mercy of Allah (SWT) in shielding us from a far greater heat. The Sunnah advises us to repeat it, so make it a habit during hot weather, especially after Fajr and Asr prayers.
Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this supplication as a means to seek refuge from the intense heat of Jahannam. By reciting it, we are not only asking for relief from the current heat but also seeking Allah's ultimate protection from the punishment of the Hereafter, which is far more severe. It's a beautiful reminder of our reliance on Allah for even the simplest comforts, like coolness from the sun.

Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'When it is the morning, say: Allahumma ajirni min harri jahannam (O Allah, save me from the heat of Hellfire) seven times. If you die on that day, Allah will decree that you be saved from it. And when it is the evening, say: Allahumma ajirni min harri jahannam (O Allah, save me from the heat of Hellfire) seven times. If you die on that night, Allah will decree that you be saved from it.'
