اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِواكَ

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need to seek from anyone other than You.

Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

When to Read

This dua is perfect for moments when you feel overwhelmed or obscured, not just by literal fog but by any form of confusion, uncertainty, or difficulty. Recite it when the world feels unclear, your path is hidden, or you're facing a situation where you need divine guidance and a clear way forward. It's also excellent for seeking financial relief and independence from needing to rely on questionable means.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and conviction. It's best to raise your hands slightly, as was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when making dua. Focus on the meaning of the words, recognizing Allah's ability to provide all that is lawful and sufficient. It can be recited at any time, but particularly during moments of need, before embarking on a journey through difficult conditions, or after Fajr prayer for a day of clarity and provision.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua asks Allah for two fundamental blessings: sufficiency through lawful means and independence through His grace. By asking to be sufficed with lawful provision, we align ourselves with Allah's commands and seek protection from haram. The second part, seeking richness through His grace, means trusting in His plan and relying solely on Him, which brings immense inner peace and contentment. It's a powerful request for both worldly and spiritual clarity, cutting through the 'fog' of dependence and desire.

Source & Authentication

The hadith narrates that Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) told a man who was struggling with debt to recite this dua often: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me a few words to say, and if you have the mountain of debt, Allah would pay it off for you. He said: O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need to seek from anyone other than You.'
