Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not pray more than eleven rak'ahs in Ramadan or otherwise. He would pray four rak'ahs, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray four more, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray three (rak'ahs) of witr. One night he said: 'O Aisha, do you know what is it that Allah has ordained for the servants?' I said: 'What is it, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'It is 'Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdik, la ilaha illa ant, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik' (Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. There is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance). This is to be recited at the end of the night (or at the end of the gathering).
