Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'When one of you looks at someone who is superior to him in wealth and creation, he should look at those who are inferior to him, for that is more likely to make him less inclined to neglect the blessings of Allah.' Then Shu'bah said: 'I asked Al-Hakam about this hadith, and he said: 'This is the excellence of this Ummah.' In a narration of Abu Dawud: 'When one of you looks at someone who is superior to him in wealth and creation, let him mention the blessings of Allah upon him, for that is more likely to make him less inclined to neglect the blessings of Allah.' Abu Dawud said: 'Al-Hakam narrated it from Abu Ubaidah from Abdullah, and he said: 'When one of you looks at someone who is superior to him in wealth and creation, let him say: *Subhanallahi al-'Adhim, Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi* (Glory be to Allah the Almighty, Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him), for that is more likely to make him less inclined to neglect the blessings of Allah.'
