All praise is due to Allah who clothed me with this garment and provided it for me without any might or power from myself.

This dua is recited when wearing a new garment, whether it's a simple shirt or a more formal attire for attending a lesson or a lecture. It marks the occasion with gratitude and acknowledges Allah's provision, setting a positive and humble tone for the pursuit of knowledge.
How to Read
Recite this dua sincerely after putting on a new piece of clothing. Take a moment to reflect on the blessing of being clothed and the opportunity to seek knowledge. It's a beautiful way to begin any activity, especially one as noble as seeking beneficial Islamic knowledge, by starting with an expression of pure gratitude to the One who enables all things.
Virtues & Benefits
This beautiful dua connects the simple act of wearing clothes to a profound sense of gratitude. By acknowledging that this provision comes solely from Allah (without any might or power from ourselves), we cultivate humility. This humility is essential for effective learning; an arrogant heart is a closed book, while a humble heart is fertile ground for knowledge. Wearing new clothes, especially when one intends to use them for seeking knowledge, becomes an act of worship by starting with this acknowledgment of Allah's blessings.

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wear a new garment, he would mention its name (like shirt, cloak, or turban) and then say:
