حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
Hasbunallah wa ni'mal wakeel
When to Read
Recite this dua when you feel isolated, misunderstood, or excluded by people. Whether it's a subtle snub, a harsh word, or a complete ostracization, this phrase is a powerful anchor to remind you that your ultimate reliance is on Allah. Use it in moments of feeling hurt or alone, when you need to shift your focus from human opinions to divine support.
How to Read
Recite this with sincerity, truly believing in its meaning. Say it aloud or inwardly, focusing on the power and sufficiency of Allah. Reflect on the context: when the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was cast into the fire, and when the companions faced overwhelming opposition, this was their response. Let it become your natural reaction when facing social adversity.
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful statement embodies Tawakkul (trust in Allah). When the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was thrown into the fire by his people, he uttered this. The fire, by Allah's decree, became coolness and safety for him (Sahih al-Bukhari 4563). Similarly, when the companions were told that the people had gathered against them, they said this, and Allah replaced their fear with victory (Sahih al-Bukhari 4807). It signifies that no matter how powerful the opposition or how deep the rejection, Allah's protection and support are supreme. It brings peace to the heart, knowing that ultimate validation and strength come from the Creator, not creation.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "When Ibrahim (Abraham) was put into the fire, he said, 'O Allah, You are in the heavens, and I am in the earth, and my wealth is in the earth. O Allah, do not let them see me, and do not harm me, and do not punish me.' And when the people threw him [into the fire], he said, 'Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal Wakeel.' (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.) So Allah, the Mighty and Magnificent, said, 'O fire! Be coolness and safety for him (Ibrahim)' (21.69)." Sahih al-Bukhari 4563. Narrated Abu Huraira: When the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) were sitting with him, and they heard that the polytheists had gathered against them, 'Umar bin Al-Khattab said, "O Allah's Messenger! Shall we not set up the maximum number of troops for them?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "How many are we?" He then said, "O Allah's Messenger! As you said, we have to set up the maximum number of troops for them." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I shall not fight them until they start fighting me." Then Allah revealed: 'And indeed, if you follow most of those on the earth, they will mislead you from the path of Allah. They follow nothing but conjecture. They are only liars.' (6:116). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal Wakeel." (Allah is Sufficient for us and He is the best Disposer of affairs). Sahih al-Bukhari 4807.
