Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel
When to Read
Recite this when you feel let down by someone's broken promise or unfulfilled expectation. It's perfect for moments when you've invested your hopes or efforts and the outcome is not as planned due to others' actions (or inactions). Use it as a balm for your heart, reminding you that your ultimate reliance is not on people, but on Allah Subhanah wa Ta'ala.
How to Read
Recite this powerful phrase with full conviction, acknowledging your own limitations and the unpredictability of human actions. Speak it from the heart, visualizing the words as a shield against disappointment and a bridge to divine support. It's best said in moments of reflection, after you've done all you can reasonably do, and the outcome rests with Allah. Repeating it can strengthen your resolve and peace.
Virtues & Benefits
This declaration was famously uttered by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) when he was thrown into the fire, and by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions when told that the people had gathered against them. (Sahih al-Bukhari 4563 & 4732). Its recitation signifies complete reliance on Allah, especially in the face of overwhelming circumstances or betrayal of trust. It brings immense peace, knowing that if Allah is your Wakil (Guardian, Disposer of affairs), no harm can befall you that He has not willed, and His provision and protection are unparalleled.
Source & Authentication
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them): "Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us and He is the best disposer of affairs." Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said it when he was thrown into the fire, and Muhammad ﷺ said it when they said: 'Verily, the people have gathered against you (anew), so fear them.' But it (only) increased them in faith and they said: 'Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 4563)
