Trust in Allah
Hasan HadithSunan At-Tirmidhi 2355

O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds and abandon evil deeds, and to be merciful to the poor, and to forgive me and have mercy on me. If You intend to test a people, then take me to Yourself without my being tested. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which bring me to Your love. O Allah, make Your love dearer to me than myself, my family, and than cold water.

Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'li khayraat wa tarku munkaraat, wa tarahhumal-masakeen, wa an taghfira li wa tarhamani, idha aradta fitnatan qawman tawaffani ilayka ghayra muftatin. As'aluka hubbaka wa hubba man yuhibbuk, wa hubba 'amalilladhi yuballighuni ila hubbik.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed, the hearts of the children of Adam are between the fingers of Ar-Rahman, as one heart. He turns them as He wills.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the Magnificent Throne, our Lord and the Lord of all things, the Splitter of the grain and the date-seed, the Revealer of the Tawrah and the Injeel and the Furqan, I seek refuge in You from the evil of all things that You are seizing by their forelocks. O Allah, You are the First, and there is nothing before You. You are the Last, and there is nothing after You. You are the Apparent, and there is nothing above You. You are the Hidden, and there is nothing beneath You. Repay our debt and enrich us from poverty.' Then he said: 'And I ask You for the strength to do good deeds, and the ability to avoid evil deeds, and the love of the poor. And that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You decree a trial for a people, then take me to Yourself without falling into it. And I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds that will lead me to Your love. O Allah, make Your love dearer to me than myself, and my family, and than cold water.' [This hadith is narrated from Ibn 'Abbas in Sunan Abu Dawud, and from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr in Sunan At-Tirmidhi].
