Trust in Allah
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 4563

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel

When to Read

When launching or actively engaged in a social justice campaign, especially when facing significant challenges, opposition, or uncertainty about the results. Recite this after taking all necessary practical steps, entrusting the ultimate outcome to Allah.

How to Read

Recite this powerful statement with deep conviction, visualizing your campaign's goals and outcomes being placed under Allah's ultimate care. Reflect on the meaning of 'Hasbunallah wa ni'mal wakeel' – that Allah alone is enough to handle all matters, and He is the most capable guardian and trustee. It's best recited with sincerity and a clear intention, after having done your part in the effort.

Virtues & Benefits

This declaration is a profound expression of Tawakkul (trust in Allah). When the companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ faced the immense army of the polytheists at the Battle of the Trench, Allah describes their response: '…and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best disposer of affairs."' (Quran 3:173). Allah then says, 'So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, all touching them untouched. And they pursued [even] the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.' (Quran 3:174). This shows that entrusting our affairs to Allah, after exerting our efforts, brings His divine support and leads to favorable outcomes, even when the odds seem insurmountable.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): 'Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.' Ibrahim (Al-Khalil - peace be upon him) said it when thrown into the fire, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) said it when they said, 'Verily, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.' But it (only) increased them in faith, and they said: 'Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 4563)
