O Allah, I ask You for the doing of good deeds, and the abandoning of evil deeds, and to love the poor. And that You forgive me and have mercy upon me. And when You intend to bring a trial upon a people, to take me [to Yourself] without my having been afflicted by it. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which bring me closer to Your love.
Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'la khayratik, wa tark munakaratik, wa hubb al-masakin, wa an taghfir li, wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fitnatan fi qawmin fa tawaffani ghaira maftun. As'aluka hubbak, wa hubba man yuhibbuk, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik.
