Success
Sahih HadithThe Book of Virtues and Good Manners 771

O Allah, guide me to the best of character, for none can guide to the best of it except You. And turn me away from bad character, for none can turn away bad character from me except You.

Allahumma ihdini li-ahsanil-akhlaq, la yahdi li-ahsaniha illa Anta, wasrif 'anni sayyi'aha la yasrifu 'anni sayyi'aha illa Anta.

Virtues & Benefits

Cultivating excellent character is a cornerstone of our faith, directly impacting our ability to connect with all of humanity. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that the believers most perfect in faith are those best in character (Sahih al-Tirmidhi 1162). By seeking Allah's help to achieve good character, we enable ourselves to be ambassadors of Islam, fostering understanding and positive relationships with non-Muslims through our actions and interactions.

Source & Authentication

‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: I did not see anyone who was more like the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in speech and conversation than Fāṭimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Prophet (ﷺ). She said: When the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting in his house, he would turn his face towards us. She reported: He would pray: 'O Allah, guide me to the best of character, for none can guide to the best of it except You. And turn me away from bad character, for none can turn away bad character from me except You.'
