Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

When to Read

This dua is perfect to recite before entering any situation requiring skillful communication, negotiation, or the building of trust with others. Whether you're preparing for a formal diplomatic meeting, a business negotiation, or even a crucial conversation with family or community members, this supplication equips you. It's also excellent to make this part of your routine supplications after Fajr prayer, as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would often do, seeking Allah's blessings for your day's endeavors.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a clear intention. Raise your hands in supplication as you begin, acknowledging Allah's power and your reliance on Him. Focus on the meaning of each part: asking for knowledge that benefits yourself and others, sustenance that is pure and permissible, and deeds that are accepted by your Creator. Cultivate a mindset of humility and earnestness as you speak to Allah.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua seeks three pillars of success in any endeavor, including diplomacy and alliance-building. Beneficial knowledge ('ilman nafi'an) allows you to understand situations, people, and the nuances of communication, enabling wise decisions and effective strategies. Goodly provision (rizqan tayyiban) encompasses not just wealth, but also the means and opportunities that are blessed and pure, which can facilitate negotiations and build goodwill. Most importantly, asking for acceptable deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan) ensures that your efforts, even if they seem small, are recognized and rewarded by Allah, bringing true success and barakah (blessing). This holistic approach ensures that your diplomatic efforts are grounded in ethical principles and divine guidance.
