Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a man entered the mosque on Friday and the Prophet (peace be upon him) was delivering the sermon. The man stood up and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, the livestock are perishing and the roads are cut off (due to lack of rain).' The Prophet (peace be upon him) raised his hands and said, 'O Allah, grant us rain. O Allah, grant us rain. O Allah, grant us rain.' Anas added, 'By Allah, we did not see any cloud in the sky.' Then he said, 'A cloud appeared and it started to rain, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) led us in prayer, and when he finished, the rain was still falling.' Sahih al-Bukhari 1003.
