Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The people said, 'O Allah's Messenger! We are suffering from drought.' So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) supplicated, and we supplicated with him. He said: 'O Allah, give us rain.' (He repeated it three times). He said: 'I bear witness that Allah's slave and His Messenger prayed for rain.' So he raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, give us rain, give us rain, give us rain.' An-Nadr bin An-Nadr said: 'Our camels died and the sky was over us.' Anas said: 'O Allah, around us and not on us.' He said: 'So the rain rained upon them for a month, and the people came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said: 'O Allah's Messenger! Your supplication for rain has brought us blessings.' So he said: 'I bear witness that Allah's slave and His Messenger are not guilty of hoarding, but that the heavens' rain is for Allah, and He gives it to whom He wills, and I am one of His slaves. This is our second journey to Medina (after the first one)." Sahih al-Bukhari 1011.
