O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion and my worldly affairs, in my family and my property. O Allah, conceal my shortcomings and safeguard me from what I fear. O Allah, protect me from my front and from behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your magnificence from being taken from beneath me.
Allahumma inni as'alukal 'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal 'afwa wal-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-stur 'awrati wa amin raw'ati. Allahumma-hfadhni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi wa 'an yameeni wa 'an shimali wa min fawqi, wa a'udhu bi 'adhamatika an ughtala min tahti.
When to Read
This is a comprehensive dua for all-around protection. It's highly recommended to recite it in the morning and evening, as the Prophet ﷺ taught us that reciting such duas daily is a means of seeking Allah's protection throughout the day and night. It's also a perfect dua to make when feeling particularly vulnerable or seeking general security in life.
How to Read
Recite with sincerity and conviction, raising your hands as the Prophet ﷺ often did when making dua. Focus on the meaning of each phrase, visualizing Allah's protection enveloping you. Make sure to articulate the Arabic clearly.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates seeking Allah's 'Afiyah, which is a profound state of well-being encompassing physical health, spiritual steadfastness, protection from harm, and peace from fear. By asking for 'Afiyah in both worlds, we are asking for a complete package of divine care. The Prophet ﷺ himself emphasized the immense value of 'Afiyah, saying that asking Allah for it is more beloved to Him than anything else.

The companion Abdullah bin 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never abandoned these supplications when evening came or when morning came: 'O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion and my worldly affairs, in my family and my property. O Allah, conceal my shortcomings and safeguard me from what I fear. O Allah, protect me from my front and from behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your magnificence from being taken from beneath me.'
