O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of the Fire; I seek refuge in You from the trial of wealth, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of poverty; I seek refuge in You from the trial of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming of debt and the subjugation of men. O Allah, grant my soul its piety, and purify it, for You are the Best of those who purify it; You are its Guardian and its Protector. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a heart that does not humble itself, and from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, wa min 'adhab an-nar, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-ghina, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-faqr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-Masiḥ ad-Dajjal.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to teach his Companions to seek refuge in Allah from the torment of the grave, and from the torment of the Fire, and from the trial of the Dajjal, and from the trial of life and the trial of death. He said: 'And you all say: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, wa min 'adhab an-nar, wa min fitnat ad-dajjal, wa min fitnat al-hayat wa fitnat al-mawt.' (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, and from the torment of the Fire, and from the trial of the Dajjal, and from the trial of life and the trial of death). And Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, wa min 'adhab an-nar, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-ghina, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-faqr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-Masiḥ ad-Dajjal. (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of the Fire; I seek refuge in You from the trial of wealth, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of poverty; I seek refuge in You from the trial of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal.
