O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty and wickedness. And I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and contentment (or self-sufficiency).
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-kufri wal-faqri wal-fujoor, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr. Allahumma inni as'alukal-huda wat-tuqa wal-'afafa wal-ghina.

How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction. Raise your hands as you do with many supplications, though it's not strictly necessary for this specific one. Make it a regular part of your daily supplications to build a consistent shield against these afflictions.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua covers a vast spectrum of essential needs. It seeks refuge from disbelief (kufur), which is the root of all misguidance, and poverty (faqr), which can lead to desperation and even disbelief. It also seeks protection from wickedness (fujoor), which signifies falling into sins and evil deeds. Crucially, it asks for refuge from the punishment of the grave, a significant trial. On the positive side, it asks for guidance (huda), the ultimate path to success; piety (tuqa), the fear of Allah that prevents wrongdoing; chastity ('afaf), the purity and modesty that protect one's honor; and contentment/self-sufficiency (ghina), the state of being free from need and satisfied with what Allah has provided. This holistic request embodies a profound understanding of true well-being, encompassing both spiritual and material aspects.
