O Allah, grant my soul its piety, and purify it, for You are the Best Purifier. You are its Guardian and Master. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that is of no benefit, from a heart that is not humble, from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not heard. O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and contentment.
Allahumma inni as'alukal huda wat-tuqa wal-'afafa wal-ghina.

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: "O Allah, help me to remember You, to give You thanks, and to worship You in the best manner. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from Satan who is cursed. O Allah, I ask You for a good heart and a truthful tongue, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I know and from the evil of what I do not know." It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach them the Istikhara prayer in all things, just as he used to teach them Surahs from the Qur'an. He said: "When any one of you is concerned about a matter, he should perform two rak'ahs of non-obligatory prayer, then say: 'O Allah, I seek guidance through Your knowledge, and power through Your might, and I ask of Your bounteous favour. For You know my circumstances and I know not. You know the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter (mention it here) is good for me in my religion, my life, and my end (or: my worldly life and my Hereafter), then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is evil for me in my religion, my life, and my end (or: my worldly life and my Hereafter), then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and ordain for me whatever is good for me, and make me pleased with it.'" (Sahih al-Bukhari 1166) It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge in Allah from five things: from the punishment of the Hellfire, from the punishment of the grave, from the trials of the Dajjal, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the Dajjal. It was narrated from Aisha that the Prophet ﷺ used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done, and from the evil of what I have not done." It was narrated from Abdullah bin Mas'ud that the Prophet ﷺ used to say: "O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity and contentment."
