أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ وَعِقَابِهِ، وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ، وَمِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whispers of the devils and from their presence.
A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min ghadabihi wa 'iqabihi, wa sharri 'ibadihi, wa min hamazatish-shayateeni wa an yahdurun.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a shield against Shaytan's primary weapon: his whispers (hamazat). These whispers can sow doubt, incite anger, lead to sin, and create anxiety. By seeking refuge in Allah's perfect words, we are invoking the ultimate authority and protection against these subtle, yet destructive, influences. It reminds us that our strength comes not from ourselves, but from Allah, the Most High.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to his companions as a means of protection. In Sunan Abi Dawud, it is narrated that Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to seek refuge in Allah from the evil of [all] creation, saying: > **Arabic:** أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ > **Translation:** 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.' > **Transliteration:** *A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq* Then, one day, he (ﷺ) passed by a group of people, and he said: 'What do these people seek refuge in?' Then he taught them this fuller version: > **Arabic:** أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ وَعِقَابِهِ، وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ، وَمِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ > **Translation:** 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whispers of the devils and from their presence.' > **Transliteration:** *A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min ghadabihi wa 'iqabihi, wa sharri 'ibadihi, wa min hamazatish-shayateeni wa an yahdurun.*
