O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the demolition of Your blessings, the reversal of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all that You are displeased with. And I seek refuge in You from the evil deeds and the evil desires.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fu'jati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik, wa a'udhu bika min munkaratil-akhlaqi wal-ahwa'.

It can be recited in prayers (salat) after the Tashahhud, or at any other appropriate time.
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful dua encompasses seeking refuge from numerous harms, including the loss of Allah's favors and well-being, and His displeasure. Crucially for our context, it includes seeking protection from 'evil deeds and evil desires' (munkaratil-akhlaqi wal-ahwa'). This protection extends to guarding oneself against the influence of misleading scholars whose teachings lead to evil actions or whose desires steer them and others away from the truth. By reciting this, we are actively asking Allah to shield our hearts and minds from falling prey to falsehood, even when it's presented by those who claim knowledge.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: (Sahih Muslim 925) **Context:** This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), showcases the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ profound reliance on Allah for protection against all forms of harm, both external and internal. The phrase 'munkaratil-akhlaqi wal-ahwa'' is particularly relevant here. 'Munkarat' refers to reprehensible or evil things, and 'akhlaq' means character or manners. 'Ahwa'' refers to desires or inclinations, often those that lead one astray from the straight path. Therefore, seeking refuge from these encompasses guarding against harmful teachings and deviant ideologies that are often rooted in misinterpretations, personal desires, or a deviation from the Sunnah.
